there seems to be conflicting information about various Greenpower
models. I have seen Greenpower Gold, Greenlife, Greenstar extractglobal.com.au

as well. This confusion is a sad reflection on our industry as some
companies focus on profit instead of health. The Greenpower Gold,
Greenlife and Greenstar are all essentially the same machine. They
were designed around 8 years ago. The advantages of living juice
are well documented and these machines were the best available at
the time. The juicers produced a great juice however the areas of
dissapointment in these models were as follows; because there are
so many plastic parts under stress these models tended to fall apart
after 2-5 years which is why they are sold with a limited warranty.
Difficult to clean because of so many parts, produces foam when
juicing wheatgrass and also limited information available to assist
customers to obtain the maximum benefits of living juice. Please

machines recognised the problems of the older machines and spent
the past five years working on a series of proto-types of a new
model twin gear juicer to overcome these problems. The model sold
as Samson Ultra (GP10 KPE 1302) was one of these proto types which
were rejected by Vitality 4 Life because there was no easily accessable
pulp adjustment and the twin gear housing was secured using a plastic
knob. Kempo is the brand name the Hippocrates is sold under in Korea.
It seems that some of these machines have made there way to the
USA and being sold on the internet. Whilst these are the same models
as the Greenpower Hippocrates they are not supported by the Vitality

Is there anything better about the Green Star than with the Hippocrates?
If not how do they sell it while it's even more expensive. The Green

Star still has its place. Because its so much bigger it is ideal
for commercial situations and in heavy (i.e.., more than 8 pints
per day) juice situations. The Hippocrates (Kempo) is very new........there
will be a time lag where the uninformed consumer will not know about
the new model Is the Hippocrates better than the previous models
in the richness of the juice itself (more vitamins and enzymes etc.)
or is it only better in convenience (less changing accessories etc.)?
The twin gears on the Green Star models were 3 / 1,000 of an inch
apart. The new jang gears in the Hippocrates are 4 / 1,000 of an
inch apart and the jang refers to the method in which this is achieved.
The closer tolerance means more of the cell wall is crushed, opening
more enzymes and more nutrients with even less pulp.........almost

single gear than with the twin gear? The biggest advantage of the

What are they good juicing? Here
is our take on the situation: The 4000 is better for juicing things
like carrots, and fruits. The 8001 is better for juicing things
like leafy greens, and wheatgrass. They two different extraction
methods both have their benefits and drawbacks. Basically the 4000
is more of a "versitile" machine.. I believe they complement each
other, and with both of them, you have your bases covered.
Our recomendation: If you want to juice alot of fruit or have more
versitility, the 4000 is probably a better choice.. If you want
to juice more leafy greens, then maybe the 8001 would be a better
choice. What do I look for when buying a juicer? 1. Does the juicer
have quality electrical fittings? An indication of what's inside
is the quality of the fittings on the outside. Is it a quality switch
or the problematic push button style. 2. What brand of motor is

that Associated Interventions and Counseling, Inc. of Ogden, Utah
sought to discover if the use of minerals could help these children
and adults do better and calm down to a level where they could function
and learn better. As part of this exploration a study was set up
using a test known as the T.O.V.A. (Test of Variable Attentiveness)
to measure the impulsivity, hyperactivity, reaction time and variability
(ability to stay with the task at hand). A scientifically significant
number of participants (n=34) was found that showed signs
of these traits in their testing. Participants used in this study
demonstrated on this scientifically validated test that they possessed
the traits of impulsivity, hyperactivity, poor reaction time or
difficulty staying on task. They were administered ten drops of
concentrated minerals produced by Trace Minerals. These minerals
were given to then orally in juice (approximately eight oz.). Electron-microscopic
studies have shown that such administration reaches the system within
approximately 45 minutes. Forty five minutes after ingesting the
minerals they were tested again using the T.O.V.A. The T.O.V.A.
is fully validated to not be able to be learned and create the problem
called test-retest problems. Therefore the results of the second
test would clearly show if there was an effect by the administration
of the minerals. The results were astounding. In approximately eighty
percent of the cases there was a significant decrease in impulsivity,
hyperactivity, reaction time or variability. In several cases the
original test revealed the child or adult to show the measurements
typical of a person with problems maintaining attention and forty-five
minutes later they showed results of a person with typical and normal
attention. No one can say for sure what the minerals did for the
participants but the effect cannot be denied. Whether the minerals
have the ability to help the nerve impulses get to the proper part
of the body and brain better, restore communication and electrical
balance in the body or serve another purpose is not clear at this
junction. It would appear that at a synaptic level of nerve endings
there is a receptor more oftenand
with greater ease. In many people the nerve impulses appear to be
moving through non-conductive space whereas after the minerals the
space is conductive and the nerve impulses increase their efficiency.
What is clear is that both the adults and the children reduced their
negative characteristics at significant measures and with the administration
of a natural product instead of the use of potentially dangerous
drugs. Further investigation into this new information found that
when used in doses of ten to twenty-five drops three times a day
this calmness and better attention to detail could be maintained.

Scientifically it is not possible to tell exactly what happened
with the administration of the minerals. It is only clear that something
changed. There is a need to have further research to see if the
electrical system of the body modified and connected better after
administration of the minerals as in a synaptic change of electrical
conductivity. There is need to see if the minerals aiding the ability
of the body to get the nutrients it needs increases the natural
ability of the body to operate as designed. There is also need to
accept that the results clearly indicate that the administration
of the minerals to people with trouble focusing, being impulsive,
not listening as they should and not functioning asnormal made a significant difference. The reasons now need further
exploration. Fortunately, unlike the use of medications, there is
no need to worry about side effects or long-term damage to the person
or body when the minerals are used and further research proceeds.
The natural origins make them a variable alternative for use. It
is important to note that the minerals did not and will not “cure”.
They are not designed to cure. The body has the capacity to cure

ionic minerals, moves towards homeostatis or balance on its own.

Why put more chemicals into the body when one of the functions of
juices is to rid the body of unwanted chemicals and poisons? The
green juices are from spinach, silver beet, parsley, lettuce, dandelion
leaves and Chinese greens. The chlorophyll, iron, vitamins and minerals
detoxify and heal the body. They also build red blood cells and
immune function. Beetroot is full of iron and anti-oxidants and
is an excellent blood, liver and kidney cleanser and tonic. Carrots
are packed with Vitamin A and great for the eyes. Fruit juices are
excellent cleansers and rich in vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants,
but I would recommend only small amounts as they are high in sugar,
or drink them early in the day. Vegetable juices can be taken at
any time. All juices are excellent for detoxifying the body from
mercury, heavy metals, pesticide and chemical poisoning. The other
great thing about juices is I use up cauliflower and celery leaves,
spinach, silver beet and parsley stalks and turnip greens which
I would normally throw away. When starting out you may feel worse
as the body detoxifies, so I would advise you start with quarter
to half a glass of juice and half purified water. Then later on
take half a glass in the morning and another half later in the day.
If that is too much, stay on quarter to half a glass until you feel
stronger to have more. It is important to either sip or drink with
a spoon so you don’t rush, as the juices are very concentrated.
Take at least five minutes and longer for a full glass. I notice
that, if I drink too quickly, I don’t feel as good as when I drink
slowly. Juices are the essence of food. They nourish the essence,
life force, blood and fluids of the body, which, in turn, strengthen
the immune function. My body, mind and spirit are receiving nutrition

the greatest nutrient activity of all raw foods because in effect,
sprouts are still in the process of growing and therefore at the
peak of their Life Force. Sprouts can be called a 'super food' as

chlorophyll pigments and enzymes. Scientific studies have shown
that the nutrient content in sprouted food can rise from 50-2000
per cent! A study conducted at the Yale University found for example
that B vitamins increase in sprouts by as much as 2000 per cent!
A research at the University of Pennsylvania reported that the general
average vitamin increase in sprouts lays at around 500 per cent.
The body also absorbs nutrients more easily from sprouts and they
are easily digested which saves the body¹s own energy reservoir.
So sprout as much as you like and eat as many sprouts as you can.
Add sprouts into juices and salads. Sprouting is easy and cheap
and will help to maintain your perfect health along with fresh fruits
and vegetables! How to sprout easily at home: All you need is a
large empty jam jar, a piece of cheesecloth, rubber band, fresh
water and some dried seeds or beans. Alternatively you can purchase
a sprouting tray kit* in a Garden Center or Health Food store. Sprouting
kits cost approximately $30 Australian and are a little bit easier
to use, especially if you are sprouting lots of sprouts at the same
time. *If you are using a sprouting tray system follow the instructions
that come along with the kit. The four simple steps of sprouting:
a) Rinse the seeds well. Place them in the jar. Cover the seeds
with 5 cm cool filtered or boiled water. Cover the jar with the
cheesecloth secured with the rubber band. Leave over night in a
warm, dark place. Sprouts love humidity and warmth, 70% humidity
and temperatures between 18 and 22 degrees is the ideal environment
for their growth. b) Next day: Empty the water and rinse the seeds
with fresh water. Drain the seeds well and return them to their
dark spot. Do this twice a day until the seeds will start to sprout.
c) Then tilt the jar 45 degrees facing downwards to allow the sprouts
to grow up the jar more easily. Keep rinsing the sprouts with water
twice a day and place them back into position. For a few hours each
day place your sprouts into the sunlight to give them an energy
boost. d) When they are fully-grown store them in an airtight container

are removed. When you rinse lentil or mung bean sprouts for example
for the last time put them into a large bowl. Then run water over
them squeezing the sprouts to remove the hulls. Soaking the sprouts
in warm water for a while also helps to remove unwanted hulls. How

World There is a little-known fact regarding theeffect of pesticides on our vegetables and fruits, which should

that pesticides and sprays may be injurious in the consumption of

extracted juice. Fruits and vegetables grown in devitalized soil,

factors. The lack of nutrients in the food will correspond in proportion

very best soil conditions the use of sprays and pesticides will
enter into the plants and roots and be completely absorbed by the

on their work without interruption in spite of the poison saturated
fibers. The question arises; How to get the enzymes, atoms and molecules

Today's real bread is home-baked with good quality flours, from
grains that can be home-milled. It excludes, of course, the additives
and chemicals which have taken over the bakery trade. There is no
doubt that bleached white flour is devoid of the nutrients contained
in wholemeal flour. Even when bread made from bleached white flour
is enriched to replace what are considered to be the most vital
nutrients, there are other important substances which are not replaced.
Food which is artificially separated and denatured cannot be wholesome.
The issue of whether today's white bread is suitable for human consumption
or not is also clouded by tthe fact that most of the so-called 'wholemeal'
breads on sale
today are no better. They are usually made from dyed white dough,
with some bran thrown in for good measure, or artificially inflated
by the use of gluten flour. The best wheat is organically grown
and the best flour stoneground from such wheat. The colour, flavour,
aroma and effect on the final product are unmistakeable, and still
retains the aroma of wheat. Heavily processed or chemicalised flour
does not have this aroma. It can't be measured by anyway other than
by our human senses, so smell your flour. Grinding flour yourself
from fresh, organic wheat will give you a standard - then go on
to one of the commercial flour substitutes, you will soon know the
difference. Commercial white flour has had almost every trace of
bran and germ removed by sifting, and the residue destroyed by the
bleaching process which gives it an artificial whiteness supposedly
preferred by consumers. One can, pick-up a supposed 'stoneground
wholemeal' loaf expecting it to have some weight, and hurl it to
the roof because of its suprising lightness. It weighs only 680g!
A loaf of the same volume made with real flour weighs 1and a1/2
to 2kg. While some good bread can still be bought, it does become
clear that the only way we can be sure that we will be eating a
nutritious loaf of bread, is to mill our own grain and bake it within
72 hours before it would go rancid. We at this point, take control
of our health. And there is no question that the best bread is made
from freshly ground flour.
Owning a mill makes it possible to grind various meals which can
be used in bread and are not widely available. THE MIRACLE OF A
WHEAT KERNEL
The wheat kernel, broken down and analysed is found to consist of
three parts.
1.Bran, or
outer covering, made up of layers of rich in many vitamins and
minerals as well as high-quality protein.
2.Germ, or embryo, from which springs new life. The wheat germ
is one of the richest known sources of B and E vitamins and contains
protein, fat and mineral matter. The germ and bran contain organic
phosphates, which provide brain and nerve food. Calcium for bone
and teeth is also supplied from these parts of the kernel.
3.Endosperm, the inner part of the wheat kernel, where the cellulose,
starch and gluten are abundant, but very little vitamin and mineral
substance is present. White flour is principally made from the endosperm.
In white flour, about one-half of the fat is lost. The fat from
a wheat kernel has a high food value, since it also contains unsaturated
fatty acids.

A story about a family who grind their own flour
Yesterday I watched my 15 year old daughter cut herself a thick
slice of freshly baked bread, peel off the crusty edge and eat it.
Then she tore off bite sized pieces of the soft middle and popped
them into her mouth. The ate the bread plain, not needing any spread
on it. I marvelled at how healthy she looked despite her
erratic eating habits. Being a teenager Thea often chooses to
eat food I consider to be ‘dead’ food - food far removed
from nature and often containing man made substances to make it
look nice and last longer. I am very grateful when I see her eating
something as nutritious as the bread I make.
I make bread from freshly ground, chemical free wheat and other
grains. Before our daughter was born my husband and I responded
to an opportunity to buy a small flour mill. As we were a single
income family with two young children the outlay seemed expensive
at the time. Looking back now we see it was an excellent investment
in the health of our family. This is the story of how this chance
purchase went on to play a big roll in our developing a healthy
life style.
Nutritional value of grains, seeds and nuts.
A grain of wheat is alive. If you plant it under the right conditions,
it will grow and provide you with many more grains of wheat. All
whole grains, seeds and nuts are cleverly designed by God to be
suitable for storing for a long time without deteriorating. Life
energy lies dormant in each, waiting to sprout forth or be used
as life preserving food. Once you grind them however, the life giving
energy begins to fade. One of the ways to transfer the vital energy
from these natural foods to our bodies, is to eat them within a
short time of them being ground.
Having our own mill made this possible. The first mill we bought
was a Retsel Little Ark. It was a hand mill which was great - we
could use it even in a black out. However, to grind fine flour the
stones have to be close together and that makes grinding, using
a handle, quite hard work. By loosening the tension on the stones
the resulting coarse ground grain is wonderful for porridge. That
is how we mainly used out mill in the beginning. It was fun experimenting
with different grains to create new and different recipes for breakfast.
Instead of offering the children rolled oat porridge or packaged
cereal, the
choice that our children were presented with each morning now
included - cracked wheat porridge with golden syrup and cream, barley
porridge with sultanas, rye porridge with raisins and rice porridge
made with milk, honey and cinnamon. I would grind the grain of choice
freshly each morning.
At one time I was supplying a mother of triplets with freshly ground
rice porridge. She believes that rice is the easiest cereal for
babies to digest. She was keen to start her babies on the best solid
foods she could procure.
Primitive man lived on seeds and nuts, raw and untampered with.
When the art of cultivation was acquired, grains became the staple
food all over the world. In Asia it was rice; oats in Scotland;
rye and buckwheat in Russia and East Europe; millet and sesame seeds
in the Middle East; corn in Mexico and Central America; and wheat
in Europe and North America. The nutritional value of grains and
seeds is impressive. They are a gold mine of minerals. They contain
most of the vitamins, particularly A, B and E. They are nature’s
best source of unsaturated fatty acids and lecithin. And they are
an excellent source of protein.
Recognising that the increasing poor health has a lot to do with
what people eat, world-famous nutritionist Paavo Airola in his book
“Are you confused?” wrote about the health building,
health restoring power of seeds, grains and nuts. He claims they
are the most important and potent foods of all. He also quotes scientific
research that claims that there are valuable substances in these
foods which are unavailable in other foods. These substances are
highly effective in preventing disease and maintaining optimum health.
He reminds readers that only whole fresh unrefined grains and seeds
contain all these
substances. They are largely destroyed in processing and refining.
As Airola says, you can’t benefit from them by eating packaged
breakfast cereal or white bread.
Fortunately our Little Ark flour mill was equipped with bearings
which made it suitable for motorisation. We bought a couple of pulleys
and a fan belt and my husband David connected the mill to an old
washing machine motor. We considered connecting the mill to an exercise
bike as legs are stronger than arms, and we could get fit at the
same time! However, as we came by the washing machine motor first
(and we didn’t ever find a second hand exercise bike) circumstance
decided the matter for us. As it was now easier and less time consuming
to make flour, my cooking received a new burst of creativity. The
smell of fresh baked bread wafting through the house became a challenge

Nutritional value of wheat
A kernel of wheat
consists of three parts - the bran, germ and endosperm.
1. The bran which is made up of layers rich in many minerals and
vitamins as well as high quality protein.
2. The germ or embryo from which springs new life. The wheat germ
is one of the richest known sources of B and E vitamins and contains
protein, fat and minerals.
3. The endosperm where cellulose, starch and gluten are abundant,
but very little in the way of vitamins or minerals. White flour
is made principally from endosperm.
The germ and bran contain organic phosphates, which provide brain
and nerve food and calcium for bone and teeth. Consumption of the
complete kernel is necessary in order to receive the full value
from wheat, especially the trace elements so essential to human
nutrition.

We were hooked on this easy means of ensuring that an important
part of the food we ate was the best we could provide our family.
Thanks to our little mill, the grains we ate were natural, healthy
and alive with nutrients - just as Nature had produced them.
Nothing is lost from the grain when ground slowly between stones.
The metal rollers used by most commercial mills today get hot and
unfortunately the heat destroys some of the vitamins found in wheat
grains. With stone grinding the entire kernel is ground spreading
the germ evenly throughout the flour. The roller milling method
removes the germ and the bran from the endosperm. Wholemeal flour
produced by roller mill, is the endosperm with some of the extracted
ingredients added back. The wheat germ for example, is generally
not included. Enriched white flour is the endosperm with a few synthetic
vitamins and minerals added. Bleach and preservatives may also be
added.
The stones however, are only suitable for grinding dry grains such
as wheat, rye, barley, rice and buckwheat. If we wanted to grind
anything containing oil, such as nuts, corn, sesame seeds or sunflower
seeds we needed to obtain a mill which had metal burrs. And this
we did. (Today the Retsel Little Ark Convertible
has stones and burrs so only one mill is required.) We were now
able to stock our pantry with more whole foods, chemical free and
with their full quota of nutrients. Soy beans became an important
part of our store of provisions in case of an emergency. By grinding
soy beans we could make soy milk and butter. Treats made from freshly
ground whole nuts became a favourite delicacy for all five of us.
The concept of being able to grind grains, seeds and nuts freshly,
at home, was such a good one we decided to promote the idea in our
local farming community. We felt that many more people would be
interested in doing the same if only they knew that the mills were
available. We wanted to demonstrate how easy it is to grind the
grain just before it is needed for cooking. We could also show people
how we successfully stored our bulk grain with minimum effort. We
decided to invest in the larger Retsel Milrite so that we had three
mills to demonstrate. We then booked a space at the local agricultural
show. At the show we demonstrated the mills and handed out samples
of freshly ground grains with recipes to go with them. Much to our
delight, mill sales resulted from our initiative. We did this for
several years until we felt that we had satisfied the local market.
People still remember our stall. Only last week I had a call from
a local shop keeper who said he had a customer with him who was
asking about domestic flour mills. It was the homeopathic doctor
from a neighbouring town. As well as being keen on avoiding chemicals
in food he also grows unusual grains which he wanted to grind at
home. He mentioned that there would be an increase in people interested
in obtaining fresh grains following the visit to our town of Dr.
Sandra Cabot, author of ‘The Liver Cleansing Diet’.
Unlike the Little Ark which requires bolting to a steady surface,
the Milrite has a motor is built into it, making it easily portable.
This opened up new opportunities to introduce people to the possibilities
of grinding grains freshly. I used to take the mill to the Pre-school
kindergarten my children attended. It was delightful watching the
children’s interest in seeing the grains being ground into
flour. They tasted the flour and many would return again and again
for another taste as if there was something in the flour which their
bodies were craving. I had white shop bought flour for them to sample
as well so that they could taste the difference. Freshly ground
flour made from the whole grain tastes nutty and flavoursome, whereas
white flour tastes more like talcum powder than food. I took the
fresh flour and made it into dough for pasta. With the help of the
children, we rolled it into flat sheets and then cut them into strips
which were cooked by the staff. You can imagine the excitement when
it came to eating what we had made.
As our three children grew so did the opportunities to use our
mills. At the primary school fete we had a pancake stall where we
ground the flour freshly for the most delicious pancakes. The portable
mill also enabled us to lend our mill to friends so that they could
have the experience grinding grains.
Chemical free
Chemicals are sprayed on the ground to prevent weeds from growing;
sprayed on the crops to prevent fungus and insect attacks; sprayed
into the storage systems to prevent further insect attacks. Preservatives
are added to extend shelf life. Bleaches are added to make white
food whiter. The list goes on. People generally are eating an increasing
amount of chemicals in their daily food.

force to the outside of the milling chamber they collide with the

Since time immemorial, humankind has made flour by grinding grains
between two stones. Originally the grains were collected and ground
by hand. When man learned how to cultivate grains, something bigger
was required to grind them. Until about 100 years ago the farmer
was still taking his wheat to the local mill where it was ground
between two large stone wheels. Water, wind or large animals were
often used to turn the heavy millstones. These mills were slow and
had limited output.The flour was fairly coarse but it was fresh
and nutritious.
As cultivation techniques lead to larger quantities of grain being
produced, again another development in milling was needed. Steel
roller mills took over the roll of milling nearly all commercial
flour. This large complex machinery can separate the wheat into
its components of bran, wheatgerm and endosperm. The positive outcome
was that there was a greater variety of uses for wheat products.
The negative aspect was two fold. Firstly, the heat generated by
the metal rollers destroyed the more sensitive nutritional elements
of the grain. Secondly, bread generally no longer contained the
whole grain in its perfectly balanced proportions.
White flour is made from endosperm which is the bulky carbohydrate
portion of the grain. It contains little in the way of the minerals,
proteins and vitamins. And yet white bread became a status symbol.
This is an example of the trend which developed and became so detrimental
to the health of our societies. The increased sophistication of
technology facilitated people being able to choose what they ate,
with their minds. Developing our mind is part of our evolution.
In doing so, we have, to a large extend, become out of touch with
our bodies. We no longer ‘hear’ what our bodies are
telling us. Our minds know best - or do they?
Perhaps the increasing popularity of bread machines will pave
the way for the idea that it is beneficial to grind your own flour.
Bread machines are quick and easy. The family can control what goes
into the bread. And now, as a companion to the bread machine, Microburst

This page is in response to all the questions and has been printed

MODERN TECHNOLOGY VS. AGE-OLD PRINCIPLES
When our people were searching for the best, in a personal flour
milling machine, we were impressed to look into the past for some
solid facts. We found that for centuries the proven technique of
a slow-turning milling stone was used, along with the principle
of grinding the grain with the use of pressure between the stones,
crushing and pulverizing the grain as it was fed between and through
the milling stones. A different type of flour was obtained from
this milling process than in today's milling, in that the skin or
bran part of the grain, along with the rest of the kernel, came
out of the mill in a fake-type flour, being flat like a leaf. (In
high-speed mills, these small particles are in the form of chunks.)
The flake type flour is very "soft" to the feel, and when
moisture is applied, it absorbs very rapidly and completely.
Lower temperatures in the milling chamber due to less speed and
friction were apparent (which we feel is good) and ease and simplicity
of perfect stone face alignment was ideal. Perfect stone face alignment
is an absolute must on all mills to get fine flour.

Q. WHY SHOULD I GO TO THE EXPENSE OF OWNING MY OWN MILL?
A. The cost of home flour mills seems high, and to someone who has
never had one, they may wonder if they would ever use one enough

Q. DOES HIGH HEAT BUILD-UP IN HIGH-SPEED MILLS REALLY DAMAGE THE
DELICATE NATURAL VITAMINS IN THE FINISHED FLOUR?
A. This is a question that has been the source of controversy in
the home flour mill business for a number of years. Even though
there have been studies of the subject and the point has been proven
-- both ways a number of times -- we contend that excessive heating
of the dry kernel of grain will cause damage. Some companies feel
that if you have to heat the flour to bake it, that heat during
milling should not hurt anything. What they fail to tell you, however,
is the simple fat of moisture. Moisture is essential to baking,
and shields the germ oil and vitamins from intensive heat directly
upon them. As an example, try this experiment; put one kernel of
wheat in a cup of water and let it soak overnight or until it is
well soaked with moisture. Take it out of a cup, insert a straight
pin in the kernel and strike a match under it and let it burn until
the outside is burnt black. Now take a dry kernel and put a match
under it. Notice how the dry kernel burns like a stick of wood?
Now put both kernels of wheat on a sheet of paper and cut them open.
You will find the kernel that was dry has completely burned up,
but the one with moisture has only the shell blackened, even though
the same amount of heat was applied to both kernels. We wish you
would try this experiment to see for yourself. In milling whole
wheat flour in any home stone mill, the wheat must be as dry as
possible, so we feel our age-old SLOW-TURNING LOW-HEAT MILLING PROCESS

A BUYER'S GUIDE TO ELECTRIC GRAIN MILLS
A GRAIN MILL is a good household investment. It allows a family
to buy grains in bulk, thus saving money. And by grinding grain
only when you need it, your flour is always fresh and nutritious.
Moreover, a mill allows you to try all sorts or unusual flavour
and texture. But a grain mill can be a difficult item to shop for.
Most are sold through mail-order catalogs, so there's seldom a chance
to see one firsthand, see how it's made, and to watch it in action.
Few people have them, so you'll probably be hard pressed to find
a neighbour with one to show you.
TEMPERATURE
Chemical reactions happen more easily at higher temperatures.
STONES VS. STEEL PLATES
In an electric mill, stones are preferred over steel burr plates
because they grind finer, produce less heat at finer settings, and
wear better. But stone or steel these mills grind whole grains into
whole grain flours. Unlike commercial milling, nothing is sifted
off in de-germing process.
Home-germing process. Home-ground flour is quite a big step up
from the commercial bran less, germ less, starchy powder. Nutritional
uptake depends more on the grind and what you're looking for from
the flour. A finer grind exposes more surface area, so more vitamins
and minerals can be assimilated during digestion. But when bran
is ground too fine, it loses some of its effectiveness as a fibre.
It is recommended that bran, the best overall water binder in digestion
per unit of material eaten, be consumed in crude form. It has two
to three times the water-holding power of fine bran. The Retsel
Mil-Master has an appealing calm about it. It is geared down to
grind slowly, delivering flour at a steady, cool 115 degrees F.
The hopper is
large enough to keep it busy without constant attention, though
you may just want to watch the flour as it gently falls from the
stones into your bowl. There's no dust flying, so no need for a
cabinet. It may not win a beauty contest, but it requires no more
cleaning than a light dusting. The stones can easily be removed
for cleaning. The Mil-Rite grinds more slowly than high-speed cabinet
mills, but because there were no stops for dumping the receptacle
or adjusting the stone setting during the ten-pound grind, the real
grinding time, 31 minutes, compared with higher-speed mills. These
Retsel mills take the hand grinding adaptation seriously. A gear
can be removed from the Mil-Rite so you're not turning the motor
too -- an exclusive feature. And the crank is extra long for added
leverage. Most high-speed mills have a direct drive handle with
a 1:1 ratio, which is extremely slow. Since the Retsel mill is made
to be productive at slow, cranking by hand is much faster.
Mucoid Plaque – endangering our health?

gastritis, cystic fibrosis, malignancy, inflammatory bowel disease,
peptic ulcers, intestinal metaplasia, dysplasia, bowel cancer, and
others, are in fact, actual transformations of mucoid plaque or
are associated with contaminated mucoid plaque.
Since this plaque occurs in the stomach as well as the entire length
of both the small and large intestines, it is important to cleanse
the entire digestive tract. Yet, even those health care professionals

consider only the first 4-6 feet of the colon.

A virtual epidemic of chronic degenerative disease is afflicting

the central atom which is magnesium in the case of chlorophyll

wheat grass juice catalyses the elimination of the stored toxins

seem that wheat grass contains relatively small amounts of the

GROWING
WHEATGRASS
1.
Soak organic seeds in cold water for 12 hours (overnight)
2. Rest seeds for 12 hours drain in suitable container (large
jar perhaps with open mesh lid) or
in sprouting bag.
3. Give 5-minute drink before sowing.
4. Sow in organic soil, press seeds down firmly so they can make
contact with mother earth
(organic soil) and form a thick carpet.
5. Cover with 4-8 layers of soaking wet newspaper or wet cheesecloth.
6. To prevent seed coming in contact with newspaper use thin layer
of wet paper towels.
7. In 4 days the wheat sprout will lift the top cover.
8. Remove the cover, wet thoroughly ( but allow to drain ) and
relocate somewhere warm and
sunny ( only morning sun )
9. 7-10 days the grass will be 12-15cm high and ready to be harvested.
10. Cut as close to the base as possible.
11. Juice, drink and enjoy feeling very alive.
